New post on the right covered with trim again and screen installed.
At first look, this project was to be just a simple screen replacement but once into removing some trim it was obvious that 2 posts needed replacing as well as some floor joists and floor boards. The owner took on the painting part of the job while I kept removing rotted components until solid wood was remaining.
Actually there is a Screen Porch #1 but it was so straight forward compared to this project it didn’t make it to the blog. I promise to take a photo of it and post it but this project was considerably more involved.
The photos in the gallery below pretty well tell the story of Screen Porch #2.

- All the flooring on these joists needed to be removed so repairs could be made. The joist on the left was replaced entirely.

- Another was repaired by sistering on some 2×6’s.

- Here the floor boards have been screwed back in place with a few replaced entirely.
