New Walls

In two days we hung most of the drywall at the New Hampshire project also in earlier posts: ceiling, windows and trusses. Closets and smaller sections are left for another day and because there are many smaller walls, they will probably take a third day. Most of the job was done with just two carpenters but when handling the few 16 foot sheets, two were needed to hold the sheets up and one to drive screws. I had great helpers and the job went quickly. We even had a visit from the original builder of the house and he joined in by hoisting a couple of sheets into position.

Ceiling height was 7’ so a foot of drywall was cut off every lower sheet. We used a drywall router to cut out door, window and electrical box openings, thus the dusk mask. Check out the photos in the gallery below.
