Uneven ceiling joists and strapping made for a wavy ceiling. After shimming the strapping using an eight foot straight edge as a guide, much of the unevenness was eliminated and the new ceiling reaps the benefits. Though the shimming job did not eliminate all irregularities, those remaining were small enough we couldn’t see them. The ceiling looks perfectly flat.
