Finally I got a look at the floor with the finish on. It really is a great look. The grain stands out in all it’s glory and the extremes of light and dark wood have been mellowed. Unfortunately most of the floor was covered as the walls were being painted so an overall photo of the finished floor is yet to come. I got to see the edges as I put on the baseboards. Just a few pictures this time but I will be back. There are several more phases to repair/upgrade this home.
- Completed floor with the finish on. The owner chose a Tongue Oil product.
- A penny was placed in this knot hole before filling with epoxy.
- All knots were filled with epoxy before the floor was sanded and finished.
- Baseboards were pre-cut and floor finish was applied to them and they really glowed with rich color and grain!
- This baseboard required and exact fit as well as attaching an electrical outlet box.
