This flooring project involved changing out the shower and building a custom vanity as well. The existing kitchen and bathroom flooring was peeling linoleum so the new pine floor to match the living room is a nice upgrade. I used Vermont Natural Coatings’ whey (as in the waste product in making cheese) flooring finish which provided a beautiful, hard finish. The added benefit is that it emits no toxic fumes or smell and dries quickly.
I used PEX plastic plumbing to plumb in the shower and created access doors for the shower shutoff valves and the shower mixing valve. More pine for the shower wall and vanity and I left them unfinished as the homeowner specified. The old baseboard got reused and the shower was trimmed out with new pine.
