Insulated Water Trough

An idea that came to me when I lived on a remote place with no electricity. That first trough was heated with kerosene. This version uses electricity but, since the trough is insulated, uses far less than a typical trough heater. Besides saving electricity, it is virtually maintenance free with the exception of the occasional cleaning. Even cleaning is minimized since, in the summer months, when water troughs can get green with alga, this trough stays considerably cooler than a non insulated trough so grows less alga.

Thanks Cliff for building my water trough. No more chipping ice or busting the ice in buckets. Makes winter work easier!! Horses like it too!
