Why Solar Roof ?
Before installing solar panels it is a good idea to make sure the roof has an expected life at least as long as the life of the panels. In the case of asphalt shingles, a new layer added before the panels are installed makes perfect sense. That was the case with this project.
A Small Roof Job
Only about 400 square feet of roofing but it still required staging which was a good part of the project. The roof was vented with a corrugated ridge vent which I was able to re-use and save the owner from buying new ridge vent.
- A significant part of this project was setting up the staging.
- The old roof was in fairly good condition.
- This appears to need some attention.
- Chalk lines snapped as a guide for new roof.
- First courses installed from the staging.
- Starter shingle on the rake edge.
- As per the manufacturer a 10″ offset was used.
- Cap shingle cut from 3 tab shingle.
- Cap shingles cut and ready to be installed.

Efficient fast and meticulous. When your dealing with the roof over your head you want it done as right as possible which I believe Cliff has done.
