This railing was formerly a prebuilt arrangement from a box store with upper and lower pressure treated rails and aluminum pipes captured in holes. I’m not sure if it was a quick install or just a poor design but the railing was leaning and the stairs had started to slope downwards. The new cable railing is more invisible and much sturdier. The lattice doors are an upgrade and swing up to allow storage below the porch.
