Dog Gates and Fence

Same fencing used for the fence was used to fill in this gate.

Save fencing used for the fence to fill in this gate.

Gate

The homeowner wanted to prepare for a new puppy with a gate on the deck and fencing a narrow area behind the house with a gated entrance there as well. I put the gates together with screws and braced them to withstand a dog jumping on them. An automatic gate latch works by just swinging it closed and lifting the latch to open. It took an extra block to get it just right.

Rear Gate and Fence

The rear gate was similar except  spanned between two posts set in the ground. The fencing was strung between two wooden posts set at either end of the house. Intermediate support was supplied with steel “T” posts driven into the ground. So far the puppy has not broken out of the fence so it appears to have been built strong enough.

This was definately the best investment I have made in a long time other than the dog. It really helps with my training program and makes for a nice open the door and no worries for the active, energetic and smart German Shepherd puppy.
